The Vice President of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo, welcomed the delegates of Chinese and Latin American companies participating in the XVII China-Latin America and the Caribbean Business Summit, held at the Olof Palme Convention Center.
"We are here hosting, and we feel honored and proud, the XVII China-Latin America and the Caribbean Business Summit, at the Olof Palme Convention Center. There are representatives of Chinese institutions and companies in a large number, 250, then 70 delegates from Latin America and the Caribbean: Colombia, Panama, Argentina, Peru, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Honduras, Ecuador, Uruguay, Bolivia, Chile, Brazil, Guyana, Venezuela, Suriname and Mexico," she explained.
"To all these brothers, so many, to those who represent the Peoples and Governments of our Continent, as well as to the representatives of Chinese institutions and companies, our affection and our special and cordial welcome," said the Vice President.
"There are 400 delegates from Chinese companies that are based in Nicaragua and from Nicaraguan companies, and agreements are being signed, have been signed, between the Government of Nicaragua, the Government of the People President, and the Chinese companies that we will mention below:"
"The contract was signed between the MTI and the CAMCE company for the design and construction of the Port of Bluefields. A success and an enormous hope for the indigenous peoples, and the Afro-descendant peoples that live on our Caribbean Coast."
Comrade Rosario emphasized that all "these are agreements to fight poverty more effectively and overcome it with the hand of God."
"We also have a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and the CCSI, intelligent logistics technology. There was also an agreement between MTI and the YTO EXPRESS company to create a regional logistics center. Then there was a contract agreement between the Ministry of Energy and Mines and the CCCC company for the construction of the El Barro wind farm project. An agreement between the Nicaraguan Social Security Institute and the SINOPHARM company for the supply of medicines and the design and construction of a regional center for the production and distribution of these medicines."
"And an agreement between the Investment Secretariat and the Arza company for the construction of a Recycling Plant, an agreement also between the Investment Secretariat and the ACTISA company for the construction of the new Oriental market."
Comrade Rosario stressed that "this is a historic event, because all these countries, peoples, who from their governments also work in harmony with all the possibilities and opportunities that the People's Republic of China opens for Latin America and the Caribbean, are fighting against poverty, advancing against poverty. In this meeting there will be more and more possibilities to fight poverty."
