On March 25, 2026, a delegation from the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity of the Republic of Nicaragua participated as a guest of honor at the “Global South Financiers Forum 2026,” organized in Beijing by the Xinhua News Agency of the People’s Republic of China.
This Forum serves as a financing platform for projects that benefit the people of developing countries, in line with the global initiatives presented by President Xi Jinping for building a multipolar, equitable, and mutually beneficial world based on respect, non-intervention, and solidarity among peoples.
Minister Erwin Ramírez, Minister of Development, Industry, and Commerce (MIFIC), conveyed greetings from the Co-Presidents of Nicaragua, Commander Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo.
He emphasized that the relationship between China and Nicaragua is an example of cooperation between countries of the Global South, reiterating that Nicaragua adheres to the One China Principle and that our country will continue working to strengthen the foundations of a new, fairer, more equitable, and representative International Financial System that reflects the realities of the Global South.
The event was attended by Mr. Fu Hua, President of the Xinhua News Agency; Mr. Sun Shuo, Vice Mayor of Beijing; representatives of local and international financial institutions; diplomats; academics; and members of the media.
Representing Nicaragua were Mr. Erwin Ramírez, Minister of Development, Industry and Commerce (MIFIC); Ms. Karina Mejía, Director of the Secretariat for Investment and Export Promotion (SPIEX); and Mr. Ramiro Cruz, Nicaraguan Ambassador to China.
