On Wednesday, June 26, the Launch Ceremony for the 17th China-Latin America and the Caribbean Business Summit took place, where the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) presented Nicaragua as the host of the Summit, which will be held in Managua in November this year, under the theme “Joining Forces, Creating Opportunities: New Horizons for China and Latin America and the Caribbean.”
The Ceremony included the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between CCPIT and the Nicaraguan Embassy in China, representing the Ministry of Development, Industry and Commerce (MIFIC), and the transfer of the Host Flag of the Summit from Comrade Tang Haijiao, Deputy Director General of CCPIT-Beijing, to Comrade Michael Campbell, Nicaraguan Ambassador to China.
Ambassadors and Representatives from all the Latin American and Caribbean Diplomatic Missions accredited to the People and Government of China, as well as Business Leaders and Representatives of local and international Media, were present.
Comrade Ren Hongbin, President of CCPIT, congratulated Nicaragua on this significant achievement, highlighting that our country, due to its privileged geographical location and commitment to economic openness, has the potential to become a regional platform for promoting trade, investment, and cooperation between China and Latin America and the Caribbean.
Comrade Michael Campbell conveyed the Fraternal Greetings of Commander Daniel Ortega, President of the Republic of Nicaragua, and Comrade Vice President Rosario Murillo, noting that Nicaragua is ready to commit its experience, capabilities, and resources for the successful celebration of the 17th China-LAC Business Summit, the most important business event for China and our region.
He also emphasized that we are at a significant moment in relations between China and Latin America and the Caribbean, and we have the historic opportunity to elevate our levels of political, economic, social, and cultural cooperation to new heights, for the benefit of our Peoples and towards the construction of the long-desired Shared Future Community of Humankind.
