Below is the press release:

Today marked the Launch Ceremony of the Vessel “Sunny Fortune” and the Inaugural International Transportation Voyage by Central China Shipping, from Tianjin Port to Corinto Port, marking the beginning of the first commercial maritime route between China and Nicaragua.

Comrade Wei Bo, President of the Tianjin Multimodal Transport Chamber of Commerce, noted that "the new China-Nicaragua route will be operated by three vessels and will consist of a monthly voyage between our Brotherly Countries."

The “Sunny Fortune” ship carries the first equipment and machinery to be used in the construction of the new “Punta Huete” International Airport in Nicaragua, a key project being built by CAMCE Engineering as part of the Belt and Road Initiative. This will significantly enhance Nicaragua’s air connectivity, allowing direct flights from Asia, Oceania, Europe, and Africa.

Comrade Michael Campbell, Nicaraguan Ambassador to China, emphasized that the new direct maritime route between Tianjin Port and Corinto Port represents a historic milestone in the development of commercial relations between China and Nicaragua and will become a crucial pillar for fully leveraging the Free Trade Agreement between our countries. Furthermore, it marks the starting point for port cooperation between Corinto and Tianjin.

The Ambassador conveyed to all present, especially the crew of the Sunny Fortune, the Fraternal Greetings and Best Wishes from Comandante Daniel Ortega, President of the Republic of Nicaragua, and Compañera Vice President Rosario Murillo, noting that the vessel and its important cargo will arrive in Nicaragua in mid-July, just in time to celebrate the 45th Anniversary of the Sandinista Popular Revolution on July 19.
